Create your own 2" square zine that can then be worn as a charm necklace! No experience necessary and all materials provided.
As part of the Trinkets community art exhibition, you can create your own amulet, talisman, set of daily affirmations, gift, or whatever you want your own trinket to be!
First we will make 2" square zines that fit snugly into little protective sleeves so that you can actually wear or carry them, rain or shine. There are a few different ways (be creative!) to attach them to gold-tone, silver-tone, or gunmetal grey chain, or a simple black cord necklace, or a few colours of reclaimed wool yarn. There are clasps if you want or need them as well as a selection of charms to add. Mix and match to your heart's content!
Do you have your own charm(s) at home? A small photo? A postage stamp, some rhinestones, a broken necklace or bracelet—anything that could be attached with a little metal ring? BRING IT! We'll see what we can do about including it to make your zine amulet personal and meaningful to you!
Materials and some tools (as well as all the help you need!) will be provided. You do not need any experience, a specific idea, your own trinkets, or anything else. Just come along and have a nice time :)
You'll be helping a precariously self-employed artist by choosing what you pay for this workshop! Prices range from £5 - £15 for one ticket for one of the two available timeslots on Saturday 9 May. To avoid annoying fees, also feel free to select the option to pay in person using cash or card!
There will also be zines, stickers, prints, and all sorts of other affordable art and trinkets for sale at this exhibition.
