about
Coconut Water

Coco & Co, or Coco & Community, is run by Coconut Water, the Artist identity of Hannah Burdess. She is a multidisciplinary artist and generalist whose work sits at the intersection of symbolism, surrealism, and social practice. Using mixed media, installation, and live programming, she builds immersive environments that explore intimacy, abundance, and collective life through bold visual language and contemporary ritual.

Everyone is welcome at the workshops to try out new things and connect with community. Participation is always mutually beneficial and transparent in exchange, which helps people align with creative authenticity and accountability.

“My art and business are influenced by my unique perspective. This differentiates me through in the way I strive for equal treatment and opportunities, how everyone who has felt fringe, or ‘weird’, has a place at the events, as well as how openly and boldly our creativity is communicated and pursued. Quiet Luxury has started to take over our homes with beige, but bright art from diverse voices really stands out from other trends, whilst providing customers with a way to express themselves and support local artists economies.”

WhAT IS COCO N CO?

COCO N CO is a community first, platform second, opportunity third. A community of creatives, artist, and professionals that want big things for and from the world. We host events, exhibitions and workshops, as well as open calls for these events. The website also provides an online platform for community members to display and sell their work, and be professionally represented by someone who gets it.

We believe in bold ideas, authentic and mutually beneficial relationships, and lasting impact. What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been, what we’ve learnt and even more excited for what’s ahead.

The name was established when I started exploring my creative identity at university. The name started as a childhood insult meaning “brown on the outside, white on the inside” – referencing my dual heritage. The aim was to turn the insult into a creative enterprise.
