Nkem Okwechime
…is a Scottish-Nigerian artist and printmaker based in Glasgow. Working across screenprint and installation, his practice explores identity, perception, and diasporic experience through both personal narrative and archival research.
A First-Class graduate of Glasgow School of Art (2022) and recipient of the Glasgow Print Studio Prize, he has exhibited across the UK and internationally. His work has been shown with Fresco Gallery Lagos in 2023 and 2025, and featured at Lagos Art X in 2024. In 2025, he completed a residency with the National Museum of Scotland.
He also delivers workshops and talks with leading arts institutions, alongside running M.R.L.C, a clothing label rooted in his print-based practice.
Nkem is featured in the upcoming ‘Trinkets’ Exhibition.
